A great start to the week with a magnificent Jaguar E-Type “Challenger” collected from the Isle of Wight for a returning customer on Friday evening and delivered the following day.
Loaded up it was onto a 6am ferry bound for a specialist workshop in Ashford, Kent, where additional upgrades awaited this already exceptional vehicle
After safely delivering the E-Type, it was off to my Southampton base to switch trailers. An open tri-axle car trailer was then used to venture to Norwich, where a recently restored Austin Tilly awaited collection for GTS Shipping and Transport. (Channel Island delivery specialists)
Once safely delivered to Poole docks for shipping to the Channel Islands in the coming days it was on the road again back to base.
Following a trailer swap back to my most frequently used enclosed car trailer we boarded the ferry back to the Isle of Wight. There, a brand-new Peugeot 408GT awaited collection from Staddlestones Garage. Back on the ferry and safely delivered to Romford Peugeot in preparation for a customer eagerly awaiting their March 1st delivery it was then time for a couple of days break.
After a brief respite, the road beckoned once more, this time to Worcester to collect a pristine 1948 Standard Flying 12 Drophead Coupe for a new customer, freshly acquired from an elderly owner who had owned the vehicle for over 25 years!
A swift turnaround led to Maidstone in Kent to retrieve two vintage marvels: a 1904 Orient 4HP Buckboard and a 1902 Clement. Both exquisite pieces of history and due to the size were snugly accommodated in the enclosed car trailer, ready for delivery to Southampton docks for shipping.
The final collection was a memorable journey to Snowdonia, where breathtaking scenery awaited. Like something out of a Bond movie, I came upon a secluded house overlooking a lake, with a castle in the distance which set the scene. The highlight? The unveiling of a meticulously restored Allard K1, the culmination of a 7+ year restoration project. Loaded up, the K1 was transported to a specialist garage near London for a thorough check over and some modifications, eagerly anticipated by its new owner.
The past couple of weeks although hectic were thoroughly enjoyable marked by stunning views, & stunning vehicles. Until the next one, drive safe!
